Intl. Theater Institute officials to attend Fajr festival
TEHRAN -- A number of officials of the International Theater Institute (ITI) will travel Iran to attend Iran’s Fajr International Theater Festival that will be held from January 21 to 30.ITI president Ramendu Majumdar, General Secretary of the Hellenic ITI Center, Christina Babou Pagoureli, the President of the Hungarian Center of the ITI Ana Lakos, the Secretary General of Georgian Center of ITI Levan Khetaguri, the Secretary General of Wei Dong and the Secretary General of Sudan Center of ITI Ali Mahdi will participate in the festival.
ITI is an international non-governmental organization (NGO) and a worldwide network that was founded in Prague in 1948 by UNESCO and the international theater community.
Fajr festival to screen 12 foreign movies
TEHRAN -- Twelve films from 11 countries will go on screen at the International Section of Fajr International Film Festival.
Belgium, United States and Turkey, France with five films (four of them joint productions) and Germany with three joint productions will participate in the gala.
“Cherries” by Zhang Jia Bei (China), “Correction” by Thanos Anastopoulos (Greece), “Goodbye Solo” by Ramin Bahrani (United States) and “Pandora’s Box” by Yesim Ustaoglu (Turkey) are among the films.
Nadalian’s land art published in Greenmuseum 2009 wall calendar
TEHRAN –- Photos of some of Ahmad Nadalian’s environmental artworks that he had made in the Persian Gulf have been published in the Environmental Art 2009 Wall Calendar, annually released in the United States by greenmuseum.org.
Greenmuseum.org is a virtual museum where visitors can find the latest environmental art related events from exhibitions to conferences and lectures.
Yazd Museum of Contemporary Art inaugurated
TEHRAN -- Yazd Museum of Contemporary Art has opened at the venue of the Iranian National Photo Biennial and is currently underway in Yazd.
The museum’s building was renovated for the biennial but the will be moved in near future to another building that is now under construction, director of the Visual Office of the Ministry of Culture and Islamic Guidance Mahmud Shaluii told Fars News Agency.
The Iranian National Photo Biennial opened on December 23 in Yazd and at Tehran’s Saba Art and Cultural Institute, and will continue until January 13..
